Logo
The KEAC logo presents an abstract image of the environment (earth, sea and sky), the source of all Inuit traditions. The rippling present in the upper portion of the circle suggests Northern Lights, an intrinsic symbol of the North. The white line marking the horizon represents snow and ice.
This image is furthermore embraced by three human-like forms which represent the three entities that comprise the KEAC: the Kativik Regional Government as well as the governments of Québec and Canada. These human forms also evoke environmental protection in Nunavik and the social aspect of the KEAC’s work.
Blue is the predominant colour of the logo and represents the Arctic climate that prevails in the region where the KEAC exercises its mandate. Finally, the colours of the KEAC logo are similar to those of the logo for the JBNQA, a central element in the history of Nunavik and by virtue of which the KEAC was created.
